A preview is optional
Some iWork packages include a PDF or JPEG preview. Others omit it, especially depending on the application version and save options. The tool only offers previews it actually finds; it does not create a fake screenshot from missing data.
A preview can help compare visual layout, but it cannot restore spreadsheet formulas or text editing by itself. Keep both the original and the editable content export if the document is important.
Bounded local processing
Files are parsed in a dedicated browser worker with archive-size and decompression checks. The worker can be cancelled without sending the file to a conversion service. Oversized or unsupported documents fail with an explanation instead of an empty success message.
Reset clears the current result. Downloaded files remain on your device until you remove them. Optional analytics never receive your filenames, text or cell values.
Separate appearance from editable content
An embedded JPEG can show a page layout while the text export omits an image or floating callout. That is not two conflicting conversions: the preview and the recovered document are separate objects already stored in the package. A thumbnail may be too small to read fine print, and a saved preview may not represent every page. Use the original application when those distinctions matter.
When a preview download is offered, save it alongside the Word or Excel output and compare a distinctive heading, a table and an image location. If no preview is offered, the tool did not find a supported preview object. Renaming a .pages file to .pdf does not create a preview or convert the document.
Know what stays after the tab closes
Processing happens in a worker in this browser tab. Cancel ends an active conversion, and Reset removes the visible result; neither action deletes files already downloaded to your computer. A shared or managed computer can retain downloads and browser records under its own settings. Keep confidential exports in an appropriate local folder and review them before sharing. Optional analytics cannot reconstruct the document because this integration does not send its filename, text or cell values.
